A Letter from the Executive Director
Dear Friends,
I have been in the role of Executive Director since August 2018, in that short time I have opened my eyes to an amazing organization with amazing people. Change seems to bring about talk of growth and moving forward. It offers a new and refreshing view of the pathway for the future. As we look to future days, our goals are to grow with respect, integrity, transparency, kindness and compassion.
People with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families have been served by Leaders for over 48 years. Leaders continues to grow as more people trust the knowledge and experience of the organization for information and assistance, personal advocacy, and education. The experience and knowledge that Leaders has gained over time allows the organization to better serve the individuals and families of Lea County to promote and protect human rights and full inclusion.
We have plans on expanding our volunteers and partnerships to be able to better support our individuals and families that we serve in Lea County. Working together, we also carry a commitment to public policy changes that impact people with disabilities. As we move forward we will survey those we serve to make sure the quality of service we offer meet or exceed their expectations. Additionally, we will be working alongside people to address issues that include healthcare, housing, employment, safety, and access to services, our Board of Directors has invested in the sustainability of our mission by advancing the factors that will continue the pathway to a productive and effective organization.
Finally, partnerships, grants, outcomes showed that a great deal of attention must be given to the daily routine care of our individuals. Our work is made possible through the generosity of members, volunteers, donors, and partners. We thank you for all you do for the individuals and families who rely on programs and services available through Leaders. Please join us to reach more people with disabilities and their families in 2018 and beyond.
There is always work to do, but we see this work as opportunities to express our mission, vision, and core values in the choices we make. We are committed to excellence to the people we serve and the Lea County community.
Sincerely,
Phillip Roybal, Ed.D.
